Become A Foster

Fostering is the backbone of everything we do at Wellie's Wish Dog Rescue. As a foster-based rescue, we don't have a physical shelter — every dog in our care lives in the home of a dedicated volunteer foster family. That means without fosters, we simply can't rescue. When you open your home to a foster dog, you're giving them a safe, loving environment where they can decompress, heal, and learn what it feels like to be part of a family. Some of our dogs need just a few weeks of foster care before they find their forever home, while others may need a little more time — especially those recovering from medical issues or adjusting to life outside of a commercial breeding facility. Whether you can foster for a short stretch or on a longer-term basis, you are directly saving a life. We provide all the supplies and veterinary care — you provide the love and the couch.

Volunteer With Us

You don't have to foster to make a difference. Wellie's Wish runs on the time and energy of volunteers who show up in all kinds of ways. We are always looking for help with dog transports, administrative support, social media content, reference checking for adoption and foster applications, and meet and greet event support. If you have a skill or some time to share, there's a place for you on our team. Volunteering with a rescue is one of the most rewarding things you can do — you'll be part of a community of people who care deeply about giving these dogs the lives they deserve.
